Kristina Donahue
& TJ Daly
fter being friends for six years, Kristina Donahue and TJ
Daly dated a mere four months before becoming engaged;
a short time later they were married in Montecito, on October 7, 2012.
TJ proposed on the day the couple moved into their first apartment
together. Kristina was busy unpacking when the groom-to-be kindly asked her to
find a stopping point so they could take a moment and celebrate their first place
together. He got down on bended knee, and told her he did not want to spend
one night in their new home as her boyfriend.
With help from her mom, the bride planned a romantic and traditional
wedding at the Montecito Country Club. One hundred and twenty guests
watched as the couple said their “I dos” in front of the Club’s large window. The
aisle was lined with fuchsia floral arrangements, as violinists played “The Bridal
Chorus” from the balcony. The ballroom was arranged with tables clothed in white
linen, with silver chargers, mercury glass votives, and cobalt blue votives.
The couple’s first dance was a choreographed waltz to a song called “White
Dress,” which was written for them by a family friend. As a tribute to the bride’s
father, a guitarist, Kristina chose Bread’s “Guitar Man,” for the father-daughter
dance.
The newlyweds honeymooned on Oahu, where they spent three nights in
Waikiki and four nights in Kahala, basking in the sun and enjoying romantic
evening strolls along the shore.
