Anne Rizzoli
& Don Ford
nne Rizzoli and Don Ford were married January 26, 2013, in
a private ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore.
The couple, who dated fifteen years before tying the knot, say they already felt
married, but wanted to make it “official.”
During their annual trip to Zihuatanejo, Mexico, the groom-to-be set up a
private dinner on the beach, which included mariachis, candles, and rose petals.
He asked for Anne’s hand in marriage, giving her a temporary ring so she could
pick out her dream ring when they returned to Santa Barbara.
Anne, who was born and raised in San Luis Obispo, has lived in Santa
Barbara since 1997. She is the owner of Louie’s Restaurant in the historic Upham
Hotel on De La Vina Street. Don was born and raised in Santa Barbara, and
graduated from Santa Barbara High and UC Santa Barbara, where he was a star
on the basketball court. He went on to play professional basketball with the Los
Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and eventually played in Italy; he is now a
real estate agent with Sotheby’s.
The couple exchanged vows on the patio of their suite at the Four Seasons,
with only their mothers in attendance. After, they headed to Montecito Country
Club where 130 friends and family, including their three children and four
grandchildren, helped them celebrate the occasion.
The elegant and stylish reception featured white and beige flower bouquets,
and tables were adorned with rosemary and olive leaf garlands, potted herbs, and
bud vases filled with white ranunculus. A dessert table near the dance floor held
pastries from Renaud’s Patisserie; guests were invited to enjoy something sweet as
Anne, dressed in a short lace wedding dress, danced the night away with her new
husband.
The couple took a honeymoon
to Zihuatanejo, where they said their
vows again to each other in a small
ceremony. They plan to travel to Italy
to celebrate with numerous friends
and family who were unable to
attend their wedding reception.
